Objectives

 Specific objective of B.Sc Botany programme is to develop the ability of the application of acquired knowledge in the various field of life. Other objectives are to know the importance of the scope of the plant science and relative subjects.

·         Programme

The course is programmed under CBCS stream (Choice Based Credit and Semester stream). Totally six semesters; first four semester with language courses, two complementary courses (zoology + chemistry) and core course. Fifth semester with an open course additional to four core courses (botany). Sixth semester with five core courses and an optional elective course.

            Programmes include theory and practical examination of core and complementary courses, field study and project work also.

·         Eligibility

 The candidate needs to pass his/her 10+2 with physics, chemistry and biology as the main subject with minimum 55 to 60 percent. Selection to courses is strictly based on marks obtained.

·         Scope

There is a great scope after B. Sc Botany; you can walk into work in different sectors, such as plant nursery, farms, teaching at school and college level, research jobs at universities, institutes, jobs in environmental consultancies,  employment opportunities are also there as taxonomist, conservationist, ecologist, horticulturist, pathologist,  in pharmaceutical fields, medical content writing, self-employment etc. Also one may het opportunities as field officer in rubber board, coconut and spices board related with crop development and in b
